Drivers

What we recommend

In computing, a device driver or software driver is a computer program allowing higher-level computer programs to interact with a hardware device.

A driver typically communicates with the device through the computer bus or communications subsystem to which the hardware is connected. When a calling program invokes a routine in the driver, the driver issues commands to the device. Once the device sends data back to the driver, the driver may invoke routines in the original calling program. Drivers are hardware-dependent and operating-system-specific. They usually provide the interrupt handling required for any necessary asynchronous time-dependent hardware interface.

When a hardware device is purchased, it comes with a CD/DVD containing the according drivers. During the warranty period, the producer has to provide to the customers the drivers needed in case the CD/DVD gets damaged or lost. Sometimes this takes time, or the warranty period ends, so you'll have to download the driver, yourself. The tricky part is getting the right one. To do so, you have to determine which of the devices are in need of drivers, we recommend two methods. One is very fast, but troublesome; and the other one is very safe, and precise, but it does require some minimal computer knowledge. The first one is to download, and install

It'll list the devices that need drivers, in seconds. The downside is that, once installed it will pop up annoyingly often, asking you to register, and purchase their software so, you'll just have to uninstall the application after this is done with. The other method is to download and install

If you do know, even a little, about computers, you'll find the details about the devices very interesting, aside the fact that you'll know which of them need drivers.

A sound card (also known as an audio card ) is a computer expansion card that facilitates the input and output of audio signals to/from a computer under control of computer programs. Typical uses of sound cards include providing the audio component for multimedia applications such as music composition, editing video or audio, presentation/education, and entertainment (games). Many computers have sound capabilities built in, while others require additional expansion cards to provide for audio capability.

You can search the sound card driver you need, here.
